Reading and Writing Assessment

Assessments provide valuable information for literacy instruction. By discovering students’ strengths and areas of need, specialized lessons can be created to support them on their literacy learning journey. Each of the following assessments identify areas of specific needs that can be the focus of explicit instruction. Viewed holistically, the overall outcomes present which areas of strength can provide support for learning.

Each assessment if conducted during the intake/initial session(s). Ongoing progress monitoring assessments conducted every 10 weeks are based on the primary instructional focus.
